Partially Stabilized Zirconia

Brief Introduction

Partially Stabilized Zirconia or PSZ Zirconia is a material with high mechanical strength and fracture toughness at room temperature. Our zirconia is a partially stabilized yttria zirconia (Y-PSZ) with 3 mol% addition of Y2O3. Since partially stabilized tetragonal zirconia has a small material particle size, high-precision finishing is possible, and practical application is progressing to precision machined parts such as molds. Partially stabilised zirconia ceramic is also used as a media for industrial blades, optical connector parts and grinding machines. It is also used for special springs using the high fracture toughness of PSZ - Zirconia, and is also used as a member of ceramic knives and slicers for home use.

In terms of structural ceramics, Y-TZP ceramic is widely used because of its high toughness, high bending strength, high wear resistance, excellent thermal insulation performance, and thermal expansion coefficient close to steel.
