Zirconia ceramic tubes are made from yttria stabilized zirconium oxide material. The toughness of zirconia ceramic is the highest among all advanced ceramics. It overcomes the inherent brittleness of the technical ceramic itself. The service life of the product is greatly extended. For comparison, its toughness is 4 times that of alumina ceramics. When the ceramic tubes with the same structure fall from a height of one meter, the falling yttria stabilized zirconia tube will only cause some cracks and the one of the alumina will break. The density of zirconia ceramic tubing is also the highest among conventional advanced ceramics, 1.5-1.7 times that of alumina ceramics and about 1.8 times that of silicon carbide/silicon nitride ceramics. Compared with normal temperature environment, ceramic tube made of zirconia has better compressive performance. In terms of friction coefficient, the friction coefficient of ziconia/zro2 tube is only 1/2 of that of alumina ceramics, while the friction coefficient of alumina ceramics itself is very low. However, in actual use, the elastic and hard friction are more important, so the specific wear resistance of the material should take the actual using condition into account. Zirconium oxide tube has many application examples, such as tubes for plungers, mud pump lining tubes, electrical insulation tubes, thermal insulation tubes, thermocouple protection tubes and so on.
