The riser tube is a key component widely used in low-pressure casting equipment in the field of non-ferrous metal smelting and casting. It realizes the low-pressure lifting of non-ferrous metal solution from the smelting equipment into the mold cavity for casting. It is an important part of low-pressure casting that affects continuous production. Therefore, its performance directly affects the quality and production efficiency of cast aluminum products. The use environment of the riser tube has higher requirements for the performance of the material. The material requires excellent high-temperature performance, good thermal shock resistance, and corrosion resistance to high-temperature aluminum liquid, non-wetting with aluminum liquid, and must have good air tightness and thermal shock fatigue resistance.

At present, the materials of low-pressure casting riser tubes are mainly divided into: metal riser tube, quartz ceramic riser tube, aluminum titanate ceramic riser tube, silicon carbide composite ceramic riser tube, etc. The metal riser tube has good air tightness, poor oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance of molten aluminum, and produces more impurities and adhesion and scaling, which seriously affects the quality of castings, has a short service life, restricts continuous production, and has high production and maintenance costs; Quartz ceramic riser tube, aluminum titanate ceramic riser tube, silicon carbide composite ceramic riser tube, etc. instead of metal riser tube, have better oxidation and corrosion resistance, but lower strength and higher apparent porosity, which directly affects thermal vibration resistance and air tightness, and the service life exceeds that of the metal riser, generally 10-45 days. The degree of improvement of the adhesion of non-ferrous metal solution slag accumulation is not large, and it is easy to break under the rapid heat of aluminum liquid. All of which leads to a shorter service life, a greater impact on production efficiency and production quality, and higher maintenance costs.
