Boron Nitride Plate

The special properties of hexagonal boron nitride plate are high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion, high heat shock resistance, high resistivity, low dielectric constant and dielectric loss, microwave transmission, non-toxic, easy machining, lubrication, chemical inertness, and indistinguishability of most molten metals. The hexagonal boron nitride sheets are resistant to acid and molten metal erosion and can stably work in the air at 1,000 degrees C (up to 2,000 degrees C in an atmosphere of argon or nitrogen). Hexagonal boron ceramic nitride sheets are easy to process, heat-resistant to shock, excellent electrical insulation and very high thermal conductivity. Of particular interest is hot pressed boron nitride excellent dielectric properties (dielectric constant 4, which is half of Al2O3), high dielectric strength, and good lubricity over a wide temperature range. The low coefficient of friction of boron nitride can be maintained to 900 degrees C, at which point the likes of graphite and molybdenum silicone have been burned. Due to its high temperature stability and inertness to carbon and carbon monoxide up to 1,800 degrees C, it is a much better high temperature material choice compared to those of silicon nitride, aluminum nitride and MgO, CaO, ZrO2. Better than its non-wetting properties, boron nitride ceramic plate protects against glass melts, molten silicon, boron, non-oxidizing slag, molten salts (borax, ice crystals) and reactive metals (e.g Al, Fe, Cu, Zn) melts. Due to its poor sintering, dense hexagonal boron nitride (HBN) plate can only be made by hot pressing technology.
