Machinable Ceramic exhibits superb manufacturing characteristics, vacuum properties, electrical insulation characteristics, high temperature and chemical corrosion resistance, among other superior properties. The most distinguishing characteristic of machinable ceramic rods is their ability to be turned, milled, planed, ground, sawed, sliced, and tapped using traditional metal processing tools and equipment, which is unparalleled by general insulating advanced technological ceramic materials such as alumina, zirconia, and silicon nitride. Machinable ceramics work similarly to cast iron in terms of processing efficiency, and they can be manufactured into a variety of items with complicated shapes and high precision specifications. While machinable ceramics are fragile and difficult to work with, as long as the processing route and clamping method are properly defined, the processing method can be carefully followed, and the cutting volume can be correctly chosen. On standard equipment, the tolerance level can be regulated at the IT7 level, and the finish can exceed 0.5 microns. Precision is maintained at 0.005 mm.
